Why I do this . . .

Simply put, I do this for my King, Jesus Christ.

I dedicate my efforts to HIM who loved us and freed us from our sins in HIS own BLOOD. (Revelation 1:5)

Before I expand on those two choices, let me ask you something. What would you think of me if I said the following?

Just to be clear, I am not talking about Jesus right now. Instead, imagine that I, Stephen Ocvirek, made the following claims about myself to you:

- I am completely sinless—I have never committed a single sin, ever.

- I have never told even the slightest lie.

- I have never stolen anything.

- I have never had an impure thought or acted immorally.

- I have never been unjustly angry.

- I have never cursed.

- I have never acted selfishly.

- I have never had a self-centered motive.

- I have the power to forgive sins.

- I am the only one who can forgive anyone’s sins.

- I will be the one to judge you—and the entire world—for sins.

- I am the only way for anyone to reach heaven.

- I have the authority to grant eternal life to anyone I wish.

- I will resurrect myself from the dead.

- I have the power to resurrect you from the dead.

- I can give you a new, everlasting body.

- I am not from this world.

- I am the Son of God, incarnate in human flesh.

- I have existed as God since the beginning of time.

And if that weren’t enough—what if I willingly allowed myself to be killed for making these claims, refusing to recant them even in the face of death?

Now, be honest with yourself—what would you think of me - Stephen Ocvirek?

Would you ever consider me any of the following?

- A wise spiritual teacher?

- A good moral example?

- A holy prophet of God?

Or would you believe I was delusional—completely out of touch with reality?

Without performing miracles, why would you ever take my claims seriously? You simply wouldn’t.

Yet Jesus made every one of these claims—through both his words and his actions.

And lets be realistic, just spend some time with me and you would know for yourself I am a sinner just like everyone else (Romans 3:10, Ecclesiastes 7:20).

Did you know that all of Jesus' apostles—His closest followers—were martyred for their faith, except possibly John? Despite facing death, they never stopped proclaiming that Jesus was who He said He was and that He had risen from the grave.

The thing that truly unsettled me as an atheist was that Jesus' religious enemies who wrote about Him never denied his miracles—they merely attributed them to the power of Satan. Why? Why not simply dismiss them as fraud and call Him a deceiver? I came to realize that they couldn’t deny his miraculous acts outright—too many people had seen them, experienced them, and testified to their reality. That undeniable fact troubled me deeply.

As the atheist turned Christian scholar C.S. Lewis stated:

"There suddenly turns up a man who goes about talking as if He was God.... what this man said was, quite simply, the most shocking thing that has ever been uttered by human lips. Yet (and this is the strange, significant thing) even His enemies, when they read the Gospels, do not usually get the impression of silliness and conceit. Still less do unprejudiced readers. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse,. Let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to."

I once tried to justify my rejection of Jesus by clinging to my belief in evolution. But let’s be honest—it takes far more blind faith to believe that random chance and copying errors in DNA and RNA somehow produced millions of highly complex, interdependent life forms than to believe that an intelligent Being designed us.

Think about it: while computer programmers spend countless hours trying to make artificial intelligence (AI) mimic human thought, our real intelligence is already pre-programmed into our DNA, guiding us from infancy to full cognitive development. Such a sophisticated biological blueprint could never be the result of random chance—it’s simply irrational to think otherwise.

So in the end:

I realized that I am not a sinless perfect person. My own conscience proved that. The Bible was correct in saying, “ Indeed, there is not a righteous man on earth who continually does good and who never sins.” - Ecclesiastes 7:20

I further realized that the entire point Jesus was trying to make was that He would save us from the sins we could not save ourselves from: (words of Jesus in Red)

John 14:6 Jesus said to Him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

John 8:24 "Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins."

1 Timothy 1:15 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners,

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18 "He who believes in Him is not condemned; but He who does not believe is condemned already, because He has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Lastly, I realized that I simply needed to trust Him to save me.

John 11:25 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though He may die, He shall live. 26 "And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?"

John 20:31 but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.

John 6:40 "And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day."

Got questions, just write me!

My background:

I am a FORMER christian hating, atheistic evolutionist.

What changed me into a person who loves my King Jesus Christ?

At first, even as an atheist, I came to realize that there are only two logical conclusions about Jesus Christ.

Initially, I considered the possibility that He was merely a myth. However, Roman historians—including a Roman senator—documented that Rome crucified Him. Beyond that, secular historians and even his religious opponents acknowledged his existence. The extraordinary, rapid spread of Christianity—something unlikely for a mere myth—made it undeniable that He was real.

That left me with only two logical choices.
