Axe Design & Craftsmanship

This axe features a 24K gold-plated eagle, meticulously engraved into the metal—not simply a laser-drawing. You can run your fingernail across the engraving and feel it catch, showcasing its depth and detail. The design was created using electro-etching and a 400,000 RPM engraver, ensuring precision in every line.

The engraving process is complex and time-intensive:

1. The axe is coated in an acid-resistant, non-conductive paint.

2. The outline of the eagle is drawn onto the surface, and the paint is carefully scraped away from the design lines.

3. Using a salt-acid mixture, the image is electrically etched into the metal.

4. The details are hand-engraved for refinement, followed by gold electroplating to bring the eagle to life.

This meticulous process takes several days to complete—but the result is an engraving that stands out in both artistry and durability.

Handle Craftsmanship

The feather design on the handle is relief-carved to rise naturally from the wood, allowing you to feel the veins of the feather with your fingertips. It has been sealed with four coats of polyurethane, ensuring lasting beauty and protection. The attached feather is an imitation eagle feather, complementing the overall theme.

Symbolism on the Axe Head

At the top of the axe, you'll find an engraving of a nail—a unique element that emerged naturally from the contrast between different woods. Rather than covering it with wood or paint, I refined and darkened the shape, allowing it to represent the nails used to crucify our Lord.
